Viva Energy Australia Pty Ltd (“Viva Energy”) is delighted to announce the opening of a new, truck friendly, $4M service station in the Scenic Rim town of Aratula, 90km south-west of Brisbane. The new Shell branded facility is strategically located to serve the trucking industry and tourists using the busy corridor linking QLD, NSW and VIC.
The service station features a dedicated truck refuelling area with ultra-high flow Shell Diesel pumps. A separate motorist refuelling area offers Shell Premium Unleaded 98 and other quality fuels. AdBlue is also available.
Aratula service station has two separate refuelling areas that services truck drivers and motorists.
With truck drivers expected to make up the majority of customers at this site, in a first for the region, the facility is offering extensive truck parking, and an exclusive truck driver’s lounge with dedicated shower facilities. The site offers free WiFi to all motorists. Experienced caterers, Country Cauldron Pty Ltd, will operate a dine-in café with an extensive food menu and barista quality coffee. Additional food choices will be on offer soon.
Sally King, Commercial & Strategy Manager at Viva Energy, said, “After 20 weeks of construction we are very pleased that the site will now be able to provide more than a dozen local jobs.
“This service station is ideally located to provide a welcome rest and refuel stop for motorists, particularly truck drivers, who are often travelling long distances. We understand the importance of regular breaks, which can be a safety requirement for truck drivers, but also that motorists and truck drivers want to stop at a quality facility which enables them to refuel their vehicles and provide a range of eating options.
"Our Aratula service station is Viva Energy’s first independently managed service station. The site aligns perfectly with our growing portfolio of high quality and strategically located Australian service station sites.”
