Local residents joined us for our sixth community information session, held on Monday, 11 October 2021. The meeting was once again held online due to limits on the number of people who can gather in person.
The meeting focused on safety. Safety is central to Viva Energy’s plans for a new terminal to bring liquefied natural gas (LNG) into Refinery Pier via ship. Viva Energy is confident that the proposed Floating Gas Terminal can and will be safely built and operated, providing important new infrastructure for the benefit of Geelong and all Victorians.
Discussions during the meeting included the extensive hazard and risk studies and environmental assessments that are underway. Local residents had an opportunity to talk to the experts, ask questions and raise any issues of concern.
