A cost effective and flexible way to supply gas for Victoria

Viva Energy is proposing vital new infrastructure that would allow a secure, flexible supply of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) to be brought to Victoria.

The proposed project adjacent to the Geelong Refinery would require a Floating Gas Terminal, an extension to Refinery Pier, a treatment facility and a new pipeline.

Market forecasts by the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) and the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) make it clear that Victoria will need an alternative way to keep supplying the gas the state needs for households, industries and electricity generation.

More than 2.2 million households and 60,000 businesses in Victoria rely on gas every day.

Viva Energy is seeking regulatory approval of the project.
