Supporting Victoria’s energy needs
We have the infrastructure and skilled workforce to deliver projects that will support Victoria’s energy needs while underpinning the future viability of our Geelong Refinery. Our Energy Hub vision includes:
- Geelong refinery which produces more than 50 percent of Victoria’s and 10 percent of Australia’s fuel needs alongside a range of specialty products;
- An Australian first publicly accessible renewable hydrogen refuelling station;
- Special units which produce Ultra-Low Sulphur Diesel and Gasoline;
- A gas terminal which could supply more than 50 percent of the gas needed for Victorian homes and businesses;
- Infrastructure to support the production of lower carbon fuels and products from co-processing alternative feedstocks;
- Strategic fuel storage that is bolstering Australia’s fuel supply security;,
- An exciting project looking at recycling waste soft plastics into oil for processing through the refinery to make plastics with recycled content; and,
- A proposed solar farm to help power our Energy Hub with renewable energy.
Our Energy Hub and the projects we are delivering underpin energy security, support existing jobs as well as generating new jobs and delivering economic development in the region.
