The most iconic partnership in the history of Australian motorsport was born again in 2017, with Shell V-Power and DJR Team Penske joining forces to create the newly named Shell V-Power Racing Team.
This new partnership sees DJR Team Penske with primary sponsor Shell V-Power branding for both their No. 12 and No. 17 Ford Falcons.
The deal reaffirms a 50 year relationship between the Shell Brand and racing legend Dick Johnson that commenced in 1967. Since then, Dick Johnson Racing (DJR) has emerged as the longest-standing motor racing team in Australia; a name synonymous with the Bathurst 1000 and close to the hearts of Supercars fans nationwide.
As the Shell V-Power Racing Team move up the grid, there are some great synergies with our premium fuel, Shell V-Power. This premium 98 octane fuel is all about improved performance. Shell V-Power embodies the spirit of technological innovation by allowing the engine to turn more freely; unlock valuable energy; and deliver more power.
DJR Team Penske share a history with the Shell Brand that goes beyond sponsorship. It’s a trusted partnership on and off the track: technically, with the race team, and also commercially with the Penske business. It’s win-win before the team even get out there on the track.
2017 has seen the team deliver results that have far exceeded their own expectations. They are currently leading the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship in both the driver and team categories.
